I realized I haven't blogged about our lodgings during our trip to the UK.
So here it is....
For the duration of our two week UK trip,we stayed for seven(7) days in Brighton and six(6)days in Worthing ,Sussex. Both places are coastal cities about an hours train ride from London.

Finding a nice hotel in the UK was a bit tricky since most of the online reviews were unfavorable to most lodgings/hotels in Brighton and Worthing. I then decided to base my selection on just one criteria alone: the hotels' LOCATION.
The two hotels we stayed in were just minutes away from the shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.
WORTHING- Travelodge Worthing Seafront
Worthing is a small town that it is hard to get a named brand hotel as accomodation that is walking distance from the main hub of this town. There are several small inns and Travelodge is the only one that is an international chain of lodging hotel that is literally just a hop away from the shopping. In fact as soon as you walk out from the back door, there are already shops and restaurants awaiting you.

As expected from a budget hotel like Travelodge, accomodations are pretty basic:
1) comfortable bed
2) room has no cabinets, you can hang your garments in a open shelf
3) No internet is provided in your room; travelodge charges 20 pounds for 6 days internet service
4) Internet is free in the lobby
5) Breakfast is also not free, its 7.50 pounds and is pretty basic
6) Parking is at the back of the hotel on a first come first served basis
7) Hotel toiletries is limited to just a small bar of soap
8) Early check in has an additional charge of 10 pound ;Check in time is 3pm and check out is 12 noon
9) About 3 blocks away from the main shopping area and pier
10) a coach surfer bus passes by infront of the hotel which goes direct to Brighton and other coastal towns in East and West Sussex

11) Change of bed linens is every 4th day. They will only provide you fresh towels upon request
12) There are 2 small lifts(elevators) to the 3 storey hotel.
13) Corridors are quite narrow
14) We had a fantastic view of the sea. But u have to request a sea view room and is again subject to availability when u check in.

15) Amenities in the room include an electric fan(no aircon), a flat screen TV hanged on the wall, a mirror, coffee pot,a table and chair. There is no phone, no hair dryer, no refrigerator,no iron and no microwave.
16) No pool, no gym, just a coffee shop/breakfast area at the basement Pretty basic but the location is great since its infront of the sea, close to shopping and amenities
Room Tip: The best is to request a seaview room when you check in or book online
BRIGHTON-Royal Albion Hotel Brighton is a city located in East Sussex 45 minutes by train from London. The hustle and bustle of this coastal city revolves around the Brighton Pier and the Brighton Wheel, the huge ferris wheel located at the seaside.

When we were planning this trip,we wanted to stay in Worthing but couldnt find a hotel that would accomodate us for 7 days. We therefore chose this hotel for only one reason. It is located right infront of the Brighton Pier and just 2 streets away from the shopping areas and The Royal Pavilion.

Breakfast is so so(buffet of eggs, ham, sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, also with cereals and fruit juices).

I read bad reviews of the hotel about the dirty carpets, hard bed etc and was expecting it. Maybe when u expect the worse, any improvement is better than nothing at all. I found our room quite neat but of course not at par compared to four or five star hotels. It was a double bed which was quite comfortable. We had a small cabinet to hang our clothes in and a dresser. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub but our faucet was leaking and quite noisy at night.
We were given a room on the top(5th floor). The only elevator in the hotel was quite small .The floor on the 5th floor made a squicking sound when u walk on it.
Parking is not free. You have to park at your own cost normally about 12 pounds per day. But street parking is free from 6pm-9pm.

The room has no airconditioning and no fan so it might be a problem if weather is hot.
Room Tip: Always ask a room facing the seaside or the Brighton Pier which is just across from the hotel.
