Hubby and I have seen the film too many times to count, so we knew on our visit to Salzburg that there was one thing we wanted to do: visit the Hellbrunn and Mirabell Palaces which were film locations of Sound of Music.
Below is the Mirabell Gardens where the children dance around the statue of Pegasus singing “Do-Re Mi". 
We then went to Hellbrunn Palace that gazebo where girls dream of a wearing a pink chiffon dress and having a boy sing to them “You are 16, going on 17…” The pavillion was reconstructed at Hellbrunn Palace.

Its different when you watch the Parade live since you see the excitement of the crowd specially families who come early just to get a good seat along the parade route. During our first year of watching the Parade I even met one lady who said she hasn't miss a single Santa Claus Parade in her life and she is probably in her 60s. Imagine that!
And this is our favorite pastime in Canada during winter....Shovelling the snow in the yard(this is actually our yard and thats my son and husband shovelling for me), ha ha. 
Snow is actually beautiful in postcards but once it gets more than a foot high you would probably hate snow.
Except for the fact that Swarovski is known for its Crystals, this attraction which combines exhibits and a shop selling its crystals is not really worth the visit. The only reason we dropped by was because we were on the way to Innsbruck and we saw a tour bus going to this place.
We didnt enter the exhibits since the entrance fee was a bit expensive. The store also was not as impressive as I hope it would be. When I compared the price of the items in this place with those from the Swarovski shop in Innsbruck and at the airport,the items sold in this shop looks even more expensive.
Aside from the shop there is a restaurant in the same area which is also quite expensive. Of course everything is expensive since this is a tourist area and also in Europe you pay in Euros and not dollars.
