We didn't have to travel far to see The Sistine Chapel ceiling. We had one at a local church at Goring By the Sea in Worthing, a 7 minute drive from our hotel.

Only two Sistine Chapel Ceilings exist in the world. One was painted in 1508 by Michelangelo Buonarroti and is located in Vatican City, Rome, Italy. The second was painted in 1988 by Gary Bevans in Goring-by-Sea, West Sussex, England.
I haven't been to Rome, so I don't really know whether it is really like the original Sistine Chapel ceiling in Rome,Italy.

The artist took five years painting the reproduction of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling.
Just before his undertaking began, the original Ceiling in Rome was cleaned. The Original colours were revealed as bright and vibrant. The artist ordered a special book illustrating this and copied the colours.
The Ceiling was completed in 1993 and remains today the only full sized copy in the world, with the advantage that it is 30 ft nearer to the ground than the original.

So when you are in London, you can travel to Worthing to see this second Sistine Chapel. The ceiling is at the English Martyrs Church at Goring By the Sea,Worthing ,West Sussex.
