Britain is a country that has so many castles. I visited Arundel Castle ,the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk yesterday.
. It is one of the remaining castles that is still being used as residence of Royal families.
The castle which is about an hours drive from Brighton is on top of a hill. It has a sprawling compound that has several gardens and an imposing chapel.
The Arundel Castle has been used for several movies.
The spinning crown.Would you believe this was created for the Royals in the 1600s.It reminded me of Disneyland.
The castle looms above the town of Arundel
A view of the chapel from the gardens
The imposing chapel
The movie "Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart was shot in Arundel
The most fragrant rose garden I have ever been to.
I was able to sneek into the inner courtyard which was off limits till a gardener chased me out.
The castle is situated in this charming medieval town dotted with a lot of souvenir and antique shops.
The small town is accessible by train and by Coach Surfer 700 which travels along the coastline of the English channel.
