Feeling the Royal Air in Windsor

We decided to visit Windsor at a whim right after we landed at Heathrow. I told hubby that it was just near Stonehenge, the first place on our travel plans. It was about 99 km away from Stonehenge in the same direction going to London.
When we arrived at the quiant town of Windsor, the place was dotted with colorful shops and small inns that reminded me of the Old town of Quebec.
Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest inhabited castles in the world. A Royal home and fortress for over 900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. Visitors can see the magnificent State Apartments, decorated with some of the finest works of art in the Royal Collection, Queen Mary's Doll's House, the Drawings Gallery and St George's Chapel.
A visit here should be one of must sees if you are a fan of the Royals.
And don't forget the shopping. It is literally dotted with a lot of curio shops and nice British stores.
