Just when Air Asia announced its much anticipated yearly sale of seats, Cebu Pacific quietly sneeked in with their own Piso Sale
(which nobody or maybe only me never anticipated). Airasia came out with a promo that made me anticipate zero fares to most destinations in Asia. However, this didnt happen.

Most seats where just discounted and the advert saying you only have to pay taxes is false.
On the other hand,Cebu Pacific didn't make a huge announcement of their Piso Sale. I just found out about it when I surfed the website to compare prices going to Bangkok.

I applaud Cebu Pacific to be true to their advertisement. When they say Piso sale, its really Piso sale although most of the sale seats were easily snapped up despite the taxes which does not make it cheap anymore.
Taxes normally run into thousands and other charges like fuel, service fees etc., would easily cost you over a thousand for the cheapest ticket. This goes to show "nothing is free in this world".
It was good I already bought our seats to Singapore from Manila otherwise I would be scrambling with the others for seats.
I tried comparing the price of the tickets I bought in Cebu Pacific just weeks ago and this is how the Piso sale compared to the tickets I already purchased.
Manila-Singapore: difference of about P500 for each ticket I bought
Manila-Brunei: difference of P500
Manila to Shanghai: difference of P1,000
Not bad!
You really have to monitor the budget airlines for their sales on a daily basis if you want to snap bargain seats! Happy travelling!
