Which Frequent Flier Card Should You Get?

Me and hubby are both United(Star Alliance) Award and Delta Airlines Frequent Flier Award Program members.
Most of hubbys travels are using Star Alliance members like United, Air Canada, US Airways and we rarely use Delta.
Our main reason for using United and Star Alliance members is the ease in getting Saver Award trips(requiring the lowest number of rewards points) compared to Delta's Rewards Redemption Program.
Just to show you the difference in availaibility of saver or lowest points redemption in both programs,I tried redeeming awards points for a trip from Toronto to Las Vegas for March 4-7,2013 which is 5 months away.
You would probably think that my chances of redeeming points for free flights are high since I am reserving 5 months in advance, right? That's not so.
This is United's Award Chart for Toronto-Las Vegas return trip March 4-7,2013
The dates coloured yellow green are dates available for saver awards redemption which requires the lowest points for a trip. This shows that with United ,there are a lot of dates where you can redeem lowest points for air travel.
United Airlines' MileagePlus is a good all-purpose Star Alliance program.
Lack of fuel surcharges on partner flights is one great aspect, as is the possibility of routing via Europe, with a stop, on a North America to Asia trip (or vice versa).
But my favorite thing about United is the excellent website that shows most Star Alliance partner flights when I'm searching for award tickets online.
Many airlines have a hard time showing partner flights, so a phone call is required to book most awards. With United, unpredictable phone interactions can mostly be avoided.
This is Delta's Travel Award Chart (below) for the same destination and dates
The dates marked in yellow green are the dates when you can redeem the lowest award points. This shows that there are fewer dates that you can redeem with low points.
This is not just for this particular destination and dates, I have also tried redeeming points from Delta for Award trips from Toronto to Calgary and Vancouver and it doesn't exist??? This shows that you have the least chance of redeeming a free flight from Delta compared to United. So if you are a frequent flier, I suggest you drop your Delta Frequent Flier Card and fly with United or its Star Alliance partners.
But if you really want to get a lot of free miles, you can try travel hacking, see the video below. Watch More News Videos at ABC | 2012 Presidential Election | Entertainment & Celebrity News
