Finally after three years we will go back to the Philippines this June. I took the chance of budgetting for trips outside Manila since we dont know how long we will be back after this trip.

This is an approximate budget of our local trips to the different islands of Palawan,Cebu,Bohol,Guimaras,Bacolod and Legaspi City.Note that Airticket and hotel expense reflected are actual costs.

Travelling within the Philippines is not really expensive nowadays specially with the budget airlines having seat sales from time to time. There are even piso(1 peso) sales that can bring you to such destinations as Singapore,Macau,Indonesia for less than P1000 thousand pesos (US$25). With the emergence of these budget airlines like Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, and Air Philippines, you would see a lot of youngsters travelling in groups. When we were in Coron,Palawan and Boracay Islands a few years ago majority of the travellers we saw were young people(20-30 years old) who travel together to save on costs .These are the new generation of Pilipino backpack travellers exploring their own country.
