Keep your Travel Documents Close to Your Heart!

We are nearing our travel month, so I made sure I have photocopies of our visa, passports ready and have a photo of all these important documents in my smartphone. Here are some tips on how to store these documents which will come in handy just in case you misplace, lost them or if God forbid have them stolen from you:
1.Scan or copy page 2 of your passport and email it to yourself or carry it with you in a separate location in case anything happens to your passport. Leave a copy with a trusted friend or relative who is not travelling with you.
If you have photocopies of your passport, credit cards, driver’s license, health-insurance information and other important travel documents it will be easier to replace the originals faster. With a copy of your passport information and number, for example, you can go to the nearest embassy and have your passport reissued more quickly than if the number had to be tracked down and you have to prove that you are “you.” The copy showing the back of your credit cards should have the telephone numbers to use if there’s a problem.
2)Store these documents in your smartphone. Though they really aren’t heavy or take up too much space in luggage, it’s still a good idea to organize travel documents in one easy spot as opposed to having a bunch of paperwork flying about. Apps like Dropbox and TripIt are perfect for saving important itinerary and even copies of your passport or credit cards if you should need access them in emergencies.
3)Your smartphone’s photo album can be used for more than collecting snapshots of your trip. Use it to store photos of your important travel documents.
Make sure to take close-up photos and check to be sure they’re clear and readable. Here’s a list of some important documents to include:
Passports or any travel identification document e.g. drivers license,
travel/hotel reservations,
prescription medication( Save a picture of each pharmacy bottle showing the name and dosage of your medication),
Insurance Policy,
Valuables: If you’re travelling with valuable items like jewelry, camera equipment or a laptop computer, store photos of them on your smartphone,
business card: so you’re sure to have my contact info in the event you have questions or need assistance with anything.
and the most important tip:
Make sure your most important document, your passport and cash is never out of your sight, hold on to it with your dear life ...I remember my Lola(Grandma) would always have a pouch filled with money tied on to the inside of her bra with an emperdible (safety pin).
This is probably too much....but if you can do this and won't loose your passport or cash, then you would be worryfree (not unless you would be asked to strip down to your panties). But whatever it is, you can use a money belt ,bra purse, slash proof purses or cross body bags to contain these items..just make sure they are always with you.Keep them always close to your heart!
Happy trip!
