I finally booked my flight to Yangon yesterday. This is the destination that I have been hesitant to book early since I was figuring out a way on how to get my Myanmar visa in Manila.

I had been monitoring the ticket prices for my Singapore-Yangon trip since last year and the cheapest ticket I could book was Jetstar .

Airline tickets to Yangon had not been on sale lately. There was an Airasia sale from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon but if I factor in my roundtrip tickets from Singapore to KL and having to stay overnight in KL, the price was almost the same as the Jetstar price which was around US$240.

The other problem I am experiencing now is getting a moderately priced hotel near the city centre. It seems that prices of hotels in Yangon has increased incredibly fast since the last time I was looking at them last year. I guess Myanmar is now experiencing a boom in tourism and with less inventory of hotel rooms the result is higher hotel prices. Despite all these minor inconveniences which includes applying for a Myanmar visa (upon our arrival in Manila)this is one place I am really excited to see. Expect a lot of pictures from me after my trip to Yangon in August.
