Bintan is one of my family favorite get aways since its just an hours ferry ride from Singapore and Nirwana Resort Hotel is one of our favorite resorts in this island.
Nirwana Resort Hotel is just one of the accomodations at the Nirwana Gardens Resort which includes Nirwana Resort Hotel; Nirwana Beach Club; Mayang Sari Beach Resort; Banyu Biru Villas and Indra Maya Pool Villas.
Every hotel guest has access to any of the hotel facilities .Nirwana Bintan is more of the mid range hotel accomodations,Nirwana Beach Club have affordable cabanas while Mayang Sari are cottages and the rest are villa type accomodations.
THE LOCATION Nirwana Bintan is just one of the hotels in the Bintan resort.After the hours ferry ride from the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore, buses with the Nirwana sign are at the Bintan Ferry terminal waiting to ferry hotel guests to the resort.
Upon arrival at the resort, there are dancers awaiting the guests and a welcome drink is served as well.
THE ROOMS The rooms are quite spacious and clean. We were given a room fronting the pool area and the gardens. The bed is a bit hard but comfortable.
THE RESORT The resort has two huge pools, one specifically for young children(more like a wading pool).
My two boys didnt want to leave the pool area for the white sand beach.
Aside from the pool, there are a lot of activities for the kids since there is a kids activity area or they can go to the beach for some beach volleyball or boatrides.
CAVEATS1) Although the hotel is located in Bintan,Indonesia, they only accept Singapore dollars and food prices are a bit expensive in the restaurant;
2) Hotel accomodations normally dont include the breakfast and there are only a few restaurants around the resort.
3) A shuttle service is available every half an hour to bring you around the resort and to Oleh Oleh, a shopping centre in Bintan but sometimes the shuttle is full so one must make reservations for the bus.
