Some people who travel to Boston decide to stay in the nearby suburbs of Boston where hotels are cheaper than those in downtown. Lowell and Woburn are two such suburbs of Massachusetts that is quite near to Boston and would be an alternative place to stay in if you don't want to pay the high hotel and parking fees in downtown Boston.

However there is simply nothing compared to staying in Boston itself(although hotels are pricier there) to be near the action.

Chelmsford,Lowell Massachusetts

About 40 minutes drive to downtown Boston is another Boston suburb that you can stay in.If you choose to take the train,total transit time from Lowell to Boston is under 50 minutes.Passengers on the Lowell Line need to purchase a “Zone 6″ ticket to travel between Lowell and Boston. There are several restaurants in Lowell catering to visitors and local residents.There is even Moonstone, a top restaurant located just a few steps away from our hotel.

the best hotel to stay in at Chelmsford since its near the main highway to Boston.

Its close to everything and has the option for commuter rail into Boston at Anderson station. - there's some express commuter trains from Woburn-North Station(Boston) and also some local trains. You can get the Logan Express from Woburn to Logan Airport and the Manchester Airport shuttle to Manchester Airport and the Amtrak to Maine. Woburn is right on Route 93 and 128 which makes it convenient to anywhere in Boston.It also has several shops and Woburn Mall for shopping and dining.

At Woburn there are several hotels like Hampton Inn, Residence Inn Marriot, Courtyard by Marriot and

Fairfield Inns and Suites where we stayed in Nice smelling and comfortable rooms Small pool It is near a 99 restaurant and the Woburn Mall In our case we stayed in these hotels due to its proximity to husbands client company. Its nice to be vacationing while hubby is working.It just happened that our two boys are still on their summer break so this trip is like a family vacation. We get free hotel stay and transpo, who can beat that(smile)!
